This new construction project in Edina, Minnesota gives the initial impression of a modern take on an Italian villa when first glancing at the exterior. But on the inside, the contrast couldn’t be more significant as you step into a world of Hollywood regency and glamour, also known as “maximalism.”

The Dwelling Home incorporated both new construction as well as remodel/renovation, showcasing our product and service talent. This modern masterpiece originally began as a remodel to an existing abode but was eventually stripped down to the studs and foundation. New foundation and additions were soon added, completing the project in July 2014. Dwelling Designs conceived the exterior design of the home as well, drawing inspiration from modern Scandinavian architecture.

Dwelling Designs was hired to renovate this midcentury modern home in Golden Valley, MN, overseeing the construction, design, and furniture implementations. The goal was to maintain the integrity of the original architectural vision with its significant angles, while updating the overall look to reflect a more practical and contemporary feel.

Featured in MSP Magazine and Midwest Home and Garden, this design was the ultimate opportunity for principal Ammar Steven Alshash to learn and be inspired by the late legendary architect, Ralph Rapson. Following in line with Rapson’s request to have all furnishings floating on legs, a light and fresh contemporary feel was implemented throughout.

This spa needed rescuing from another era. Dwelling Designs was thrilled to update the look while marrying the company's new brand identity to the new design.

This home was designed for an active and professional couple that needed a practical concept for regular entertaining.

The Excelsior and Grand condominum complex in St. Louis Park needed common area updates to reflect a transitional design style. Dwelling Designs infused classical finishes and fixtures, creating an elegant and upscale feeling for the residents. 

Featured on HGTV and DIY channel! Dwelling Designs was tasked the challenge of remodeling a bathroom within an oversized room. The design team took a previously mundane space to the next level by completely demo'ing out the entire space and starting from scratch. A massive storefront window expands the view overlooking a golf course, while a sleek soaking infinity tub sits in front of it. The shower that sits in the center of the room is completely enclosed in glass. Waterproof speaker tiles are installed for a touch of tech and custom closets fill the perimeter of this modern remodel.

An urban home owner came to us with a need for a fresh start. This space was designed from a blank slate, filling the condo with a rustic-modern flair and items that were mostly shopped locally.

This North Loop loft building needed modern touches with punches of color to help its residents feel more at home. Dwelling Designs worked with the association to gain insights on its design and followed through with this fresh design.

Featured on HGTV and the DIY Channel! A small master bathroom was expanded to accomodate a wet room clad in recycled granite, modern plumbing fixtures, a soaking tub and a custom designed tile 'area rug'.  Soapstone countertops and a subtle wallpaper round out this transitional master bathroom. 

A downtown penthouse yearned for touches of nature amongst the city lights. Several original custom designs and concepts were implemented in an attempt to bring out an organic and modern feel.
